Our Code of Behavior
Truth Academy is primarily a drop-off homeschool group. As such, appropriate adult and student conduct is imperative. Students must be able to conduct themselves in the classroom without being a disruption. While under certain circumstances Truth Academy can be a good fit for students with learning challenges, we are not equipped (nor are teachers and staff specifically trained) to accommodate severe or ongoing behavioral issues and disruptions. Parents and students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, maintaining Christian standards of courtesy, kindness, language, morality, honesty, and striving toward an unquestionable character in dress, conduct, and attitude.
Physical Contact

No physical displays of affection between student couples. (holding hands, kissing, etc.)

No wrestling, punching, kicking, slapping, hitting, shoving, or roughhousing.

Physical bullying, harassment, or assault will result in immediate expulsion without refund.
Building Use

Walk in the building at all times.

Throw trash away & clean up food messes.
-
Keep hands & feet off the walls and furniture.

Do not enter the kitchen.
-
Do not enter rooms or locations that are not specifically labeled/used for TA.

No loitering in the bathrooms.

Use only the bathrooms on the main level of the building.
Cell Phones

Personal phone use is prohibited by students, including during Student Lounge.

Taking pictures, video, or sound recordings of anyone, without their permission, is strictly prohibited.

Posting pictures, video, or sound recordings of others on any social media platform/sending via text or email, without their permission, may result in expulsion and/or revocation of membership. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube…
Attendance

If a student is in the building, they are required to attend all classes they are enrolled in.

Parents will be notified if their student is found skipping class.

Skipping classes may result in expulsion (without refund).
Classroom Expectations
Each instructor has the responsibility and authority to set behavioral expectations to maintain an educational setting that provides for effective learning without inappropriate disruption. In these individual settings, each student is to comply with each instructor’s requirements with the understanding that there will be variances between classes. This is in addition to Truth Academy's Code of Behavior.

1st Occurance - A warning to the student, parents will be contacted by instructor.

2nd Occurance - A meeting with the student, parent, and instructor/administrators will be set up to discuss resolution.

Ongoing behavioral struggles may result in removal from the class for the remainder of the semester (without refund).
Tardiness

Students are required to be in their classrooms on time.

Parents will be notified each time their student is tardy.

Habitual tardiness (3+ times) may result in removal from the class for the remainder of the semester (without refund).

Grace is extended for students who have been held behind in another class, or weather-related tardiness.
Classwork/Homework

Students are expected to come to each class prepared, and ready to participate.

Students are expected to complete their assignments/homework/tests, this is not optional.

Habitually (3+ times) choosing not to complete assignments/homework/tests may result in the removal from the class for the remainder of the semester (without refund).

Grace is extended for learning challenges, previously communicated situations with instructors, and prolonged illness/absence.
Verbal Communication

Address our instructors, administrators, and other adults in a respectful way.

Obey verbal directives in a timely fashion.

No yelling or screaming.

Bullying or harassment will be dealt with swiftly. Continued issues may result in suspension and/or expulsion (without refund).
Inexcusable Situations

Threats of harm to others.

Possession of drugs, alcohol, tobacco.
Truth Academy reserves the right to address situations that may not have been outlined in our policies or Member Handbook. These situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and depend on the severity of the situation.
